(NewsNation) — Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem will highlight the performance of TSA employees who worked during the government shutdown.

TSA agents were under strain for more than 40 days during the longest government shutdown in U.S. history. They had to work without paychecks during that time, and air travel became more chaotic in recent weeks as the government reduced the number of flights in major airports. They said it was to maintain safety amid the air traffic controller shortage.
