An investigation is underway after a body was discovered in the wheel well of an airplane that landed in Maui after taking off from Chicago.
A statement from United Airlines to WGN News confirmed the body was located in the wheel well of the main landing gears of Flight 202.
According to United’s website, flight 202 departed O’Hare Airport at 9:30 a.m. on Dec 24 and landed at Maui’s Kahului airport at 2:12 p.m. local time.
“The wheel well was only accessible from outside of the aircraft. At this time, it is not clear how or when the person accessed the wheel well,” the statement from United said.
United said they are working with law enforcement in the investigation.
