(NewsNation) — A pilot flying over Rhode Island had a confusing encounter with a strange object, mystifying air traffic control.
A video of the flight was posted in October but recently resurfaced.
A pilot flying a PA-32RT-300T Turbo Lance II at an altitude of 3,500 feet radioed Rhode Island T.F. Green International Airport, describing a small, silver cylinder hovering near the wing of his aircraft, saying it appeared to be standing still.
The mysterious object reportedly floated near the right wing tip before flying alongside the aircraft then disappearing from view.
ATC said there were no other reports of an object and questioned whether it could be a drone or a balloon.
On the radio, ATC could be heard joking, “Good luck with the aliens.”
