(NewsNation) — Capitol Hill has taken notice of recent, mysterious drone sightings across the Northeast and is hoping to get to the bottom of the mystery at today’s hearing.
Drones have been hovering over New Jersey, parts of New York, and Pennsylvania. At this moment, no one appears to know why.
There is a lot of frustration among local officials in New Jersey and on Capitol Hill, The Senate Homeland Security Committee says they have not been briefed about this.
Several witnesses testified, including the NFL’s chief security officer and top officials with the FBI, DOJ, and U.S. Customs and Border Patrol.
This hearing was first scheduled in October, but it comes days after several drones were first spotted near President-elect Donald Trump’s Bedminster golf club.
