NEW YORK (WPIX) – A rare celestial event is set to grace the sky next month and you won’t need special glasses or an exact location to see it.
A large planetary alignment will be mostly visible to the naked eye just before dawn on June 3.
The celestial phenomenon occurs when the planets line up closely on one side of the sun at the same time.
During the upcoming planetary show, Mercury, Mars, Jupiter, Saturn, Uranus and Neptune will be on display.
Saturn will be visible to the naked eye from late night on, according to Starwalk. Mars, also visible to the naked eye, will rise shortly after Saturn, followed by Uranus, Jupiter and Mercury closer to dawn.
To see the full planetary parade you’ll need high-powered binoculars or a telescope to get a glimpse of Uranus and Neptune.
The same alignment will also happen on Aug. 28.
