FBI Director Kash Patel faced the House Judiciary Committee on Wednesday morning amid scrutiny of his handling of the investigation into the assassination of conservative activist Charlie Kirk.
The hearing came a day after Patel faced tense questioning in the Senate on the Kirk investigation, the Trump administration’s handling of the case related to the late convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein and a slew of firings within the bureau earlier this year. The FBI chief was hit from both sides of the aisle, but it was exchanges with Democrats that resulted in two heated outbursts.
Patel’s testimony before the House panel was scheduled to begin at 10 a.m. EDT.
