(NewsNation)— Since Election Day, President-elect Donald Trump’s phone has been ringing, and one of those calls was from President Joe Biden: an invitation to the Oval Office.

The two will meet at the White House Wednesday morning, according to a statement from Biden’s Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre.

No other details were given.

“President Trump looks forward to the meeting, which will take place shortly, and very much appreciated the call,” said Trump campaign communications director Steven Cheung to the Associated Press.

Biden and Vice President Kamala Harris have promised a peaceful transfer of power, unlike Trump after losing his second bid for the presidency in 2020.

Both called Trump to congratulate him after winning the Electoral College and popular vote in the 2024 election.
