(NewsNation) — President Donald Trump’s approval rating at 100 days in office is similar to that of his first term after 100 days, which was the lowest since Gallup began tracking with the Harry Truman presidency. A DDHQ/Decision Desk poll found that 56% of voters disapprove of the job the president is doing.

Trump started out with lower approval ratings than previous presidents, and the rating dropped as his administration moved to enact policies around immigration and tariffs.

At 100 days, a new NPR/PBS/Marist poll found 45% of people would give Trump a failing grade and that 23% would give him an A.

Polling data from Real Clear Polling showed Trump with a 52.5% disapproval rating.

The road to Trump’s disapproval rating started halfway through his first 100 days. He entered office with a 40% disapproval rating.

That rating began to change at several points, including in polls conducted after Trump announced a wave of tariffs, bringing warnings of a recession and trade disruptions.

The economy is an area in which Trump’s polling has suffered. When he first took office, 36% of Americans disapproved of his handling of the economy, a number that has since climbed to 55.3%.

On inflation, Trump’s approval rating dropped from 48% at the start of his term to 38.6% in recent polling.

One area in which Trump saw some gains was immigration, with early numbers showing around 46% approval and latest polling coming in at 47.8%.
