(NewsNation) — Well wishes have poured in for former President Joe Biden after his office announced he had an “aggressive” form of prostate cancer.

According to the statement, Biden was diagnosed with prostate cancer on Friday, leading to messages of support from President Trump, Kamala Harris, Minnesota Gov. Tim Walz, California Gov. Gavin Newsom, and others from both sides of the political aisle.

President Trump

“Melania and I are saddened to hear about Joe Biden’s recent medical diagnosis,” he said on Truth Social. “We extend our warmest and best wishes to Jill and the family, and we wish Joe a fast and successful recovery.”

Kamala Harris

“Doug and I are saddened to learn of President Biden’s prostate cancer diagnosis,” Harris wrote on X.

“We are keeping him, Dr. Biden, and their entire family in our hearts and prayers during this time. Joe is a fighter — and I know he will face this challenge with the same strength, resilience, and optimism that have always defined his life and leadership. We are hopeful for a full and speedy recovery.”

Tim Walz

“Gwen and I are praying for President Biden and his family. A truly decent man and a friend. We’re wishing him all the best,” he wrote on X.

Barack Obama

“Michelle and I are thinking of the entire Biden family. Nobody has done more to find breakthrough treatments for cancer in all its forms than Joe, and I am certain he will fight this challenge with his trademark resolve and grace. We pray for a fast and full recovery,” Obama wrote on X.

Gavin Newsom

“Our hearts are with President Biden and his entire family right now,” Newsom wrote on X.

“A man of dignity, strength, and compassion like his deserves to live a long and beautiful life. Sending strength, healing and prayers his way.”

Donald Trump Jr.

Donald Trump Jr. shared an image on X following the news, which said, “politics aside, we wish him a speedy recovery.” Trump Jr. wrote “100% agree.”

Jon Fetterman

“Joe has been a fighter his whole life. He will prevail. Sending Dr. Jill Biden and their family my absolute support,” he wrote on X.

Hillary Clinton

“I am saddened to hear about former President Biden’s cancer diagnosis. The Biden family is in my prayers during this difficult time,” she wrote on X.

“Sad and unfortunate and I wish the former President the best in his treatment of this cancer,” the former White House physician wrote on X.

“Care at the White House should be second to none. Unbelievable this was missed, but the truth is, his physician was more concerned about assisting with the political cover up than providing world class medical care.”
