An Anaheim man is facing a federal charge after he allegedly wrote on social media that he’d planted pipe bombs at Disneyland ahead of a visit by Vice President J.D. Vance and his family.
Marco Antonio Aguayo is accused of writing threatening Instagram comments on Disney’s page on July 12, 2025, the same day the second family visited the resort.
“Pipe bombs have been placed in preparation for J.D. Vance’s arrival,” he allegedly wrote, as detailed by prosecutors in a federal complaint first reported by Seamus Hughes’ Court Watch.
He then added “It’s time for us to rise up and you will be a witness to it” and “Good luck finding all of them on time there will be bloodshed tonight and we will bathe in the blood of corrupt politicians,” the complaint says.
When the Secret Service confronted Aguayo, he initially denied it, then later admitted writing the comments.
“He claimed that he intended it merely as a joke to provoke attention and laughter,” the complaint says. “AGUAYO stated he contemplated deleting the post but ultimately forgot to do so.”
The complaint indicates a charge of threat against the president and successors to the presidency.
In a statement to NewsNation affiliate KTLA, the Secret Service said they are “not able to confirm or comment on any potentially ongoing investigations,” citing a “concern for operational security.”
