Prosecutors are asking for a 30-year prison sentence in a plot to kill U.S. Supreme Court Justice Brett Kavanaugh. 29-year-old Sophie Roske, who was known as Nicholas Roske and in the process of transitioning at the time, showed up outside the home of Justice Brett Kavanaugh in 2022, planning to kill him and then commit suicide.

This week on “Serving Justice,” criminal trial attorney Sara Azari is joined by NewsNation reporter Safia Samee Ali and forensic psychologist Dr. Lauren Kaplan to discuss how gender identity and mental health issues can play a role in sentencing.
