(NewsNation Lillian Govus, with the government of Buncome County, North Carolina, tells “On Balance” that rescue crews are trying to prioritize the appeals for help that are the most urgent and life-threatening. She says the storm has cut both electricity and cellphone service for tens of thousands. In addition, she hasn’t heard from several of her own staffers and doesn’t know their status.
