Texas woman, 19, vanishes on Christmas Eve

(NewsNation) — The search for a 19-year-old woman who went missing on Christmas Eve is ramping up in San Antonio, Texas.

Camila Mendoza Olmos vanished after her mother said she went on one of her regular walks around the neighborhood early on Wednesday, Dec. 24. She was wearing a black North Face sweater with blue accents, baby blue pajama shorts and white shoes.

Surveillance video shows a person believed to be Camila searching inside her vehicle before the tape ends.

The Bexar County Sheriff’s Office said authorities have conducted multiple searches using drones and technology. Police believe the 5-foot, 4-inch tall, 110-pound woman left her home on foot because her vehicle was left behind. She may have her car keys and driver’s license on her.

Camila’s mother, Rosario Olmos, has said she became concerned when her daughter did not return home in a reasonable amount of time. When she tried calling Camila, she realized her daughter’s phone was turned off and still at home.

The mother called Camila’s boyfriend and father, who hadn’t seen her, before alerting the sheriff’s office. Dozens of family members and friends have gathered to search for Camila.

“I only ask God to please bring her back home,” Camila’s mother told news station KENS5. “Bring her back to me.”
