A writer on “Saturday Night Live” is asking for help in the search for his sister, who has been missing for nearly two weeks in Southern California.
Christina Lynn Downer, 38, was last contacted by a friend via text message on Dec. 10, according to the Los Angeles Police Department.
Her brother, SNL writer Jimmy Fowlie, wrote an Instagram post asking for the public’s assistance.
“My sister has been missing and we are worried that she isn’t safe,” the post reads. “Her married name is Downer but she may go by Christina Fowlie.”
Downer was last seen in the Koreatown neighborhood of Los Angeles. Her family members and loved ones have not heard from her since and are very concerned for her well-being.
She is described as a woman who stands 5 feet 1 inch tall and weighs around 115 pounds. She has brown eyes and black hair.
It’s unclear where she may have been heading when she disappeared. Her family noted that she does not have any medical conditions that would contribute to her disappearance and that she has never gone missing before.
“Please share this so that if anyone has seen her, they can give any information to the police,” Fowlie wrote on his Instagram post. “The phone number is 213 996 1800 and her case number is 25237639. She was last seen in LA. thank you.”
Since Fowlie posted his sister’s missing persons report to social media, SNL cast members, including Chloe Fineman, Bowen Yang and Sarah Sherman, had shared his post on their Instagram Stories, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Fowlie joined SNL in 2022 and won an Emmy Award for his work on the sketch comedy series.
Anyone who may know Downer’s whereabouts or has information on the case is asked to call the LAPD’s Missing Persons Unit at 213-996-1800. During non-business hours or on weekends, call 1-877-527-3247.
