LARGO, Fla. (WFLA) — The Largo Police Department held a news conference Monday afternoon to discuss ongoing efforts to locate a missing man.
Monday marked day four of the search for Petro Kuqo, but Largo Police Chief Mike Loux said his department is optimistic that he will be found safe.

Kuqo was last seen at around 9 a.m. on Friday walking away from his home at The Pointe at Clearwater apartment complex, located at 1845 Oak Trail West. He was caught on camera walking through the parking lot toward US-19.
Kuqo is an 87-year-old Albanian man diagnosed with dementia, and police said he does not speak English. He is roughly 5 feet 3 inches, 165 pounds, with brown eyes and gray hair.
He was last seen wearing a gray shirt, dark gray sweatpants, and black shoes, and did not have his phone, ID, or any money when he left his home.
Largo police launched an extensive search effort Friday afternoon, and a large first responder presence could be seen surrounding the apartment complex through the weekend.
Police Chief Mike Loux said so far, the efforts have included a grid search by foot, drones, helicopters, K-9s, a hound, and boats to search waterways. LPD has also received assistance from the Pinellas and Pasco County sheriff’s offices and the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission.
Law enforcement has also been in contact with nearby hospitals and the Pinellas Suncoast Transit Authority and asked them to keep an eye out for Kuqo.
Police also shared that Kuqo’s family typically uses an AirTag kept in his wallet to locate him, but he was wearing his pajamas when he left and did not have it with him.
