CADDO COUNTY, Okla. (KFOR) – The mother and stepfather of a missing 12-year-old who was found safe on Sunday are now facing multiple felony charges.
The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation (OSBI) labeled the child’s disappearance as suspicious and even offered a $5,000 reward for anyone who was able to locate him. He was last seen on January 2.
After more than a week, on January 11, the child was found safe.
The child’s mother, Kimberly Kay Cole, and stepfather, George Franklin Cole Jr were arrested on Wednesday, January 7.
Officials say Kimberly is facing felony charges of child abuse, child sexual abuse, child neglect, conspiracy, and crimes against nature.
George is facing felony charges of child abuse, child sexual abuse, child neglect, pattern of criminal offenses, and conspiracy.
George Franklin Cole Jr. attempted suicide while in his jail cell, according to law enforcement. He is alive and being treated. The extent of his injuries is unknown at this time.
