Missing 18-year-old Kenley Bommarito’s body found in Texas lake

(NewsNation) — The body of an 18-year-old Texas man who had been missing since Friday, Nov. 28, was found in a lake, authorities said.

On Tuesday afternoon, the Georgetown Police Department announced Kenley Bommarito’s body was recovered from Lake Georgetown in central Texas “after being located by underwater sonar.”

Bommarito’s mom, Deanna Morris, told local outlet KEYE that her son “went missing while camping with a friend.” He was last seen Friday night at a campsite near Lake Georgetown at around 10 p.m.

An investigation to identify the cause, manner and circumstances of the death is ongoing.

“Because of the active nature of this investigation, we will not be making further comment at this time and we ask for your continued cooperation while we work through the investigation,” the announcement stated.
