PHILADELPHIA (NewsNation) — Human remains found behind an abandoned school in Philadelphia on Saturday have been identified as those of a missing 23-year-old woman, according to multiple reports.

Kada Scott had been missing since early October. She was last seen leaving her job at a senior living center on Oct. 4, 2025. Her car was still at her workplace, and her phone was dead.

Police arrested Keon King, 21, who they say was the last person in contact with Scott on the day she went missing. They say the two did know each other, though it’s not clear for how long. He was initially charged with kidnapping and stalking. Additional charges announced included arson, causing catastrophe, conspiracy, unauthorized use of an automobile, tampering with evidence, reckless endangerment and receipt of stolen property. Those charges, according to authorities, are in reference to the burning of a vehicle.

Detectives say Scott’s car was found parked outside her work, and there were no surveillance cameras in the area.

Scott said she was being harassed before she disappeared, but it’s not clear if King was the person harassing her.

King allegedly has a history of similar crimes, including a case where he was charged with kidnapping and strangling a woman. The case never went to court because the victim did not want to testify, but charges are now being refiled.

King has a preliminary hearing in the Scott case on Nov. 3.
