(NEXSTAR) — Holidays can be hectic, and there is no shame in forgetting an ingredient or two for your Thanksgiving feast. Unfortunately, your options for open retailers ready to fulfill your needs may be limited.
As they have been, major retailers like Walmart and Target will be closed for Thanksgiving this year.
However, many major grocery chains will still be open, possibly with limited hours.
CVS
While CVS stores will be open, hours may vary. Pharmacies will either be closed or only open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. You can find your location’s hours online.
Dollar General
Most Dollar General stores will be open for Thanksgiving and hours can be confirmed online or in the DG app.
Giant Eagle and Market District
Both Giant Eagle and Market District stores will be open until 3 p.m. on Thanksgiving Day, a company spokesperson confirmed, though their pharmacies will be closed. Giant Eagle Express locations will be open for regular hours.
Kroger
The Kroger family of stores will close early on Thanksgiving Day, and pharmacies are expected to be closed. You can confirm your location’s hours online.
Sprout’s
Your nearby Sprouts store will be open from 7 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Turkey Day, according to the company.
Walgreens
Though most Walgreens locations will close for Thanksgiving, its 24-hour locations will remain open, the company confirmed.
Wegmans
Like others on this list, Wegmans stores will close early on Thanksgiving, while their pharmacies will be closed. You can confirm store hours online.
Whole Foods
Like others on this list, most Whole Foods stores are expected to be open on Thanksgiving. You can confirm store hours online.
Before visiting any store on Thanksgiving, whether it’s listed above or not, it’s best to confirm its hours online or over the phone.
Which retailers are closing for Thanksgiving?
There are several companies that are, once again, shutting their doors for the holiday.
That includes Aldi, Costco, Publix, Sam’s Club, Target, Trader Joe’s and Walmart.
Should you find yourself needing a snack while commuting to your Thanksgiving dinner, or a forgotten item for said dinner, most gas stations and convenience stores remain open for Thanksgiving, as do some restaurants.
