SPARTANBURG COUNTY, S.C. (WSPA) — The head of custodial services at a South Carolina elementary school got a surprise party for his 80th birthday.

Students and staff at Cannons Elementary School lined the hallways, holding signs and wearing funny t-shirts to honor Punzel Frenanders with a “Punzel Birthday Parade.”

“He is the first one in the building and keeps the facility spotless,” district officials said.

He started working at the school in 1987.
