KILGORE, Texas (KETK) – Local firefighters entered a Kilgore, Texas, storm drain to rescue stuck kittens, the fire department said.

Saturday afternoon, the Kilgore Fire Department said kittens were found in a storm drain and firefighters entered to save one at a time.

“Just another day in the fire service. These kittens are over getting stuck in trees and now prefer storm drains,” Kilgore FD said.

Earlier in the month, just 35 miles northeast of Kilgore, Marshall firefighters responded to a similar incident. Marshall officials said it was a multi-agency rescue of one kitten that was also stuck in a drain. The kitten rescued on Aug. 2 was named Stormy and was reportedly adopted.
