(NewsNation) — Still looking for someone to be your valentine? Consider taking a shelter dog on a date this Valentine’s Day.

Chewy, an online retailer of pet products (including the popular Lamb Chop toy), has partnered with nearly 50 animal shelters across the country to launch “Dogs’ Date Out.”

Chewy will provide participants with a “date kit” that includes toys, treats, a leash, a blanket, a portable water bowl, poop bags and an “adopt me” bandana.

Participating shelters are in Arizona, California, Florida, Illinois, Texas and 22 other states.

Whether you’re single, taken or simply a dog lover, this is a date you — and the dogs — won’t forget.

“Dogs’ Date Out is more than just a fun Valentine’s Day activity–it’s a rewarding way to support shelters by giving animals much-needed socialization and exposure outside the shelter,” Diane Pelkey, vice president of communications and public relations at Chewy, told NewsNation. “These special outings not only help dogs show their true personalities, but they also provide shelters with more opportunities to connect pets with potential adopters and the community.”
