(NewsNation) — DJ Daniel, a 13-year-old battling terminal brain cancer, was honored as an honorary member of the U.S. Secret Service by President Donald Trump during his congressional address Tuesday night.

Despite being given just five months to live in 2018, Daniel has defied the odds for seven years, continuing to chase his dreams. He joins NewsNation to share his inspiring journey.

Daniel joined “On Balance” on Wednesday to recap his experience on Tuesday night and his love for law enforcement.

“I ain’t gonna lie, my body almost dropped to the floor,” Daniel told NewsNation. “I ain’t gonna lie, it was like my soul left my body.”

Daniel and his father met President Trump on Wednesday in the Oval Office. Daniel wrote a note for the 47th president in which he said Trump was the greatest president.

“I didn’t get to say this to Mr. Trump, but I’d like to thank Mr. Donald Trump for bringing me here. He didn’t have to do that,” Daniel added.
