SOUTHINGTON, Conn. (WTNH) — The next time you head to TD Bank in Southington, you may want to take your furry friends with you.
The bank installed a new dog ATM, also known as the automated treat machine.
“The treats drop in no portion control so they can indulge as much as they would like to partake,” Kate Burns, retail market president at TD Bank in Southington, said. “We’ve got doggy bags for those who are in a hurry and on the go, so it is just a great way for them to just be rewarded for making a great choice to come and visit us.”
To activate the machine, the canine has to step onto the puppy paw mat. Then, a motion detector releases the free treats for pets.
The dog ATM is the first one in the town and in Connecticut. The machine is among 14 new ATM’s being installed at TD Banks across the country from their Maine to Florida footprint.
The bank first presented the treat machine at its South Broad location in Philadelphia last year.
“It’s just another way to have a unique experience and we are finding that our customers are really enjoying different ways to engage when they come and visit us here,” Burns said.
The bank is located on 121 Main St. in Southington.
