(NewsNation) — Wendy Williams has said her attorneys are “highly upset” after reports she was rediagnosed with dementia.
Williams, 61, was seen outside the restaurant Tucci in New York City on Saturday night, walking arm-in-arm with restaurateur Max Tucci, when she briefly spoke to Page Six about her latest health update.
Last week, the former talk show host’s guardianship was upheld by a judge after she was diagnosed again with frontotemporal dementia and aphasia, according to People magazine. She was first diagnosed with FTD and aphasia in 2023.
Wendy Williams’ guardianship
Williams has been in a controversial court-ordered guardianship since May 2022, as conversations continue to circulate about her health.
In 2022, Sabrina Morrissey was appointed Williams’ conservator.
Williams initially wanted to be placed in a conservatorship but didn’t realize “her whole life would be taken away,” People magazine reported in March.
In January 2025, she told “The Breakfast Club” she felt “trapped” in an emotionally abusive guardianship.
“I feel like I am in prison … I am definitely isolated,” Williams said of the facility she has been staying at under the direction of Morrissey.
Williams and her ex-husband, Kevin Hunter, had filed a lawsuit to end her guardianship in June.
The $250 million lawsuit claims the guardianship “has become a weapon, not a shield.”
The suit is against Morrissey and Wells Fargo financial adviser Lori Schiller and former manager Bernie Young.
Williams brushed off questions about Morrissey ahead of dinner Saturday.
She told Page Six, “I will get out of my guardianship.”
