(NewsNation) — Tina Turner’s son, Ike Turner Jr. has died from kidney failure, TMZ reported. He was 67.

Jacqueline Bullock, Tina Turner’s niece, told the outlet that Turner Jr. died on Oct. 4 in Los Angeles, one day after his birthday, and he had been suffering from severe heart issues for years.

His health has reportedly been in decline after he suffered a stroke in September, according to Bullock.

Turner Jr. was born in 1958 to Ike Turner Sr. and Lorraine Taylor, but he was adopted by the “Simply the Best” superstar during her marriage with Turner Sr.

Like his parents, Turner Jr. got into music at a young age, learning to play instruments and worked as Tina Turner’s sound engineer, according to Newsweek.

His death comes two years after Tina Turner passed away in 2023. Turner Sr. died in 2007.
