(NewsNation) — Taylor Swift let her fans know that even after she’s married she will continue to make music and that thinking otherwise is offensive.
Swift, fresh off her new album “The Life of a Showgirl,” appeared on “The Scott Mills Breakfast Show” on BBC Radio 2 on Monday, when host Scott Mills brought up the theory from fans that the “The Fate of Ophelia” singer will retire after she weds Travis Kelce, according to Us Weekly.
“Taylor, don’t tell me this is your last album?” Mills asked.
“What? No,” Swift, 35, responded.
“I just saw some fans going, ‘Well, she’s going to get married and then she’s going to have children and then she’s going to be the last album,’” Wills responded.
The “Opalite” singer said she found that sentiment “a shockingly offensive thing to say.”
She added, “It’s not why people get married.”
Taylor Swift gets engaged to Travis Kelce
In August, Swift got engaged to Kansas City Chiefs tight end Kelce, 36.
The couple announced the news on Instagram with the caption, “Your English teacher and your gym teacher are getting married.”
Photos show Kelce down on one knee proposing to the “Lover” singer in a garden adorned with pink and white roses.
Taylor Swift: Travis Kelce supports my career
Swift told Mills that she loves Kelce because he loves that she makes music and how it fulfills her.
“That’s the coolest thing about Travis, like he’s so, he is so passionate about what he does, that me being passionate about what I do, it connects us,” The “Cruel Summer” singer said.
She added, “There’s no point in time where he’s gonna be like, ‘I’m really upset that you’re still making the music. The music thing that I signed up for that I knew you love, I thought you were gonna stop doing that.’”
