ROSEMONT, Ill. (WGN) — Police investigating the alleged drugging incident involving Tara Reid at a Chicago-area hotel have found that no criminal act was committed against the actress.

Rosemont police say detectives reviewed surveillance video from the north suburban area Doubletree Hotel. While it did show Reid at the hotel bar, it did not show anyone tampering with or adding anything to her drink.

“We can confirm that a bartender covered her drink when she left the bar, which is standard practice for bartenders to do,” Rosemont police added.

No evidence Tara Reid’s drink was tampered with, police say

According to police, the department is still awaiting hospital records and the results of chemical testing. Reid has also not received those results. Still, police say there is no one at this time that they are investigating in relation to the incident.

“While we do not have any evidence that a drink was tampered with, it is a good reminder to never leave a drink unattended. If you ever believe you have been drugged or feel unsafe, please reach out to local authorities,” police said in a statement.

Tara Reid alleges drink was spiked at hotel bar

TMZ previously reported that the actress left the Doubletree Hotel in Rosemont on a stretcher the morning of Sunday, Nov. 23, when she fell ill shortly after ingesting a drink she believes may have been tampered with. Reid told TMZ that she left her drink unattended while outside. When she returned to the bar, the actress alleged that she found her drink had a napkin covering it, something she reportedly did not do herself.

Reid, who was in the area for an autograph signing, filed a police report days later.

Police said an investigation remains active.
