Sunny Hostin rips insurance company accusing husband of fraud

Sunny Hostin attends a discussion of the View's "Behind the Table" podcast at 92NY on October 08, 2024 in New York City.

(NewsNation) — Sunny Hostin, co-host of “The View,” has rebuked the insurance fraud accusations leveled against her husband in a recent lawsuit.

Insurance group, American Transit filed a lawsuit alleging Dr. Emmanuel Hostin and almost 200 other defendants received kickbacks for performing surgery and fraudulently billed the insurance company.

Entertainment Weekly obtained a statement from Sunny Hostin wherein she alleged American Transit filed the lawsuit “to avoid paying for medical and surgical procedures for people it insured who were in pain.”

“This company has a history of filing frivolous claims, has been investigated by New York State, and has been sued by Uber Technologies,” Hostin said.

Additionally, Sunny Hostin alleged American Transit is “on the verge of bankruptcy” and “used my celebrity status to start a disgusting media smear campaign against my husband,” according to EW.

Sunny Hostin reportedly said her family will file a five-million-dollar counter lawsuit for defamatory claims.

According to Page Six, American Transit is seeking at least $450 million in damages.
