What is Simone Biles’ net worth?

(NewsNation) — Simone Biles, the most decorated gymnast in history, has over 30 medals under her belt. But how much wealth has the international superstar gained?

Biles was No. 10 on Forbes’ list of the highest-paid female athletes in 2022. Between all her endorsements, she made an estimated $10 million that year. Forbes also made Biles the highest-ranking gymnast on their list.

Other sources have also claimed she is the richest gymnast in the world. Despite this, Biles reportedly said, “I will only splurge if I earned it.”

Biles’ total net worth is estimated to be $25 million by Celebrity Net Worth. Similar to other Olympic athletes, Biles doesn’t really earn a salary. Instead, most of her net worth has come from her various endorsement deals, including ones with United Airlines, The Hershey Company, Oreo and more.

Olympic athletes only get paid for attending the games if they win a medal. According to Deseret News, the medals have the following worth for U.S. athletes:

Simone Biles’ properties

In 2017, Biles sold her childhood home in Houston, Texas, for anywhere between $250,001 and $285,000, according to the HAR listing. The home was originally listed at $289,000 and had 3,711 square feet.

Biles announced on social media in 2020 that she had purchased a new home in Spring, Texas. There weren’t many details about the home, but property records obtained by Celebrity Net Worth show that the house cost less than $750,000.

Biles then announced in 2023 that she and her husband, Jonathan Owens, were breaking ground on a new house. In 2024, Biles shared an update on social media on the home they were having built.

Simone Biles endorsements

Biles has many endorsements, with Forbes estimating in 2021 that she earned $5 million a year just on those. However, in 2022, she reportedly made $10 million from endorsements. Biles has partnered with many companies, including Visa, MasterClass, Uber Eats and more.

Biles also does ads for various companies on her Instagram, which currently has 12.4 million followers.

In 2015, she signed a deal with Nike, which was set to last for six years. However, Biles announced before the 2020 Tokyo Olympics that she would be ending her partnership with Nike and instead partnering with Athleta. She told The Wall Street Journal that she left her partnership with Nike mainly because of different values.

“I felt like it wasn’t just about my achievements, it’s what I stood for and how they were going to help me use my voice and also be a voice for females and kids. I feel like they also support me, not just as an athlete, but just as an individual outside of the gym and the change that I want to create, which is so refreshing,” Biles explained.

Simone Biles withdraws from Tokyo Olympic Games

In 2016, Biles had already earned eight World Championship golds before going into the Olympic Games in Rio. While in Rio, she received gold medals in the all-around, vault, team and floor exercises and a bronze medal on the balance beam.

In 2021, she withdrew from four individual finals at the Tokyo Olympic Games. She cited mental health concerns and “the twisties,” which is something gymnasts face when they are unable to do flips in the air. She later revealed that her aunt had died during the games.

Biles returned to the stage in 2023, when she competed in the U.S. Classic. She then competed in the 2024 Paris Games, winning three gold medals and one silver medal.

Simone Biles started gymnastics at 6

Biles, who was born in 1997, started gymnastics at 6 years old. While on a field trip with her daycare, she visited a gymnastics center and reportedly started copying the other gymnasts. The gym allegedly sent a letter to her family after this, asking her to join the sport.

By 2007, the gymnast was competing at level 8, and in 2013, she was the first Black woman to win the all-around gold at the World Championships. When she was 17 years old, she won it again, with some saying she was the best gymnast in the world.

When reflecting on her childhood, Biles said in her Facebook Watch series, “Growing up, me and my siblings were so focused on food because we didn’t have a lot of food. I remember there was this cat around the house, and I’d be so hungry. They would feed the cat, and I’m like, ‘Where the heck is my food?’ And so, I think that’s where it stemmed where I don’t like cats is because this frickin’ street cat, she always fed it, but she never fed us.”

Biles and her siblings were put in foster care when she was a toddler, and her grandparents eventually adopted them.
