(NewsNation) — Kristin Davis revealed on her podcast that her “And Just Like That” co-star Sarah Jessica Parker told her she had body dysmorphia.
Davis was on her podcast, “Are you a Charlotte?” when she shared Parker’s comments.
“There were times when Sarah Jessica would be like, ‘You have body dysmorphia,’” Davis recalled Parker telling her on the set of the hit HBO series, according to the New York Post.
“I’d be like, ‘I don’t think I do,’ because the world is literally telling me daily that I am pear-shaped,” Davis added. “So much to the point where you can’t think straight.”
The actress said that conversations around her body led her to develop an eating disorder.
“You’re starving yourself. I remember fainting in a parking lot one time because I was on some crazy diet,” she said.

She also said fans would come up to her and comment about her body, exacerbating her body image issues.
“There was a good number of years when we were on the old school, in your televisions, HBO proper, and when people would see me on the street here or in New York, they would say, ‘Oh, but you’re not fat,’” she said on her podcast.
“I know they didn’t mean anything bad. They mean it as a compliment,” she told guest Benito Skinner. “But it’s because I’m standing next to Sarah Jessica.”
‘And Just Like That’ canceled
Davis’ comments come days after “And Just Like That” was canceled after three seasons on HBO Max.
An insider told NewsNation’s Paula Froelich that the show suffered from low ratings and cost millions of dollars to produce.
“It’s a horrifically expensive show to make, and it wasn’t justified,” a source told Froelich. “But HBO signed a multiyear contract with (executive producer) Michael Patrick King and Sarah Jessica Parker so … there you go.”
Parker, Davis and Cynthia Nixon reportedly made $10 million per season of the show.
