Sabrina Carpenter announces new album ‘Man’s Best Friend’

(NewsNation) — Sabrina Carpenter announced a new album Wednesday, less than a year after her hit album “Short n’ Sweet.”

The 26-year-old Carpenter has been in the limelight for a while, becoming well-known with her role as Maya Hart in the Disney Channel series “Girl Meets World.” However, she became even more popular following her 2022 hit “Nonsense” and her 2024 album.


Carpenter took to X to make the announcement of her new album. Just last week, she released a new song called “Manchild,” which had fans speculating about an upcoming album.

In an email to her fans, she wrote:

“I didn’t plan on releasing a new record however when inspiration strikes, i go to the studio, and when it doesn’t, i still go to the studio. but luckily life was really happening to me and inspiration struck!”

She told fans that she “tried not to overthink the process this time,” and she felt at ease when she was making the album. She also said that this album is different from her other projects, “where I’d bang my head to crack numerous codes.”

She said, while working on the record, she listened to some of her favorite artists when she was growing up, like Dolly Parton and Stevie Nicks. Carpenter did a remix of her song “Please Please Please” with Dolly Parton earlier this year.

She ended the email with, “i am endlessly grateful to you who is reading this for your trust in me, and i can’t wait to share these stories with you!”

Sabrina Carpenter wins 1st Grammy awards

Carpenter won her first two Grammys this year for Best Pop Vocal Album and Best Pop Solo Performance for “Espresso,” another popular hit from her “Short n’ Sweet album.” She also appeared on “Saturday Night Live’s” 50th anniversary special, performing “Homeward Bound” with Paul Simon.

The new album, named “Man’s Best Friend,” is set to be released on August 29, 2025. It is available to preorder on vinyl, CD and cassette on the singer’s website.
