TAMPA, Fla. (WFLA) — Reba McEntire, America’s “Queen of Country,” hasn’t tied the knot just yet, as she had to make clear during a live interview Monday.

In an interview with “Today,” McEntire discussed hosting the Rockefeller Center Christmas Tree Lighting, as well as her show “Happy’s Place” and Rex Linn, her fiancé and co-star.

During the interview, however, the country music star had to pause to correct “Today” host Savannah Guthrie when she mistakenly referred to Linn as Reba’s husband while they spoke about season two of “Happy’s Place.”

“Wait a minute, before everyone has a conniption fit at home, we’re just engaged,” McEntire said.

“You’re engaged, I’m sorry!” Guthrie responded.

“My family’s going, ‘What, you didn’t tell us?'” Reba said, chuckling about the mistake.

Linn and McEntire got engaged last Christmas Eve in Tennessee, although they didn’t confirm it publicly until September 2025.

McEntire said working with her fiancé, who was on the “Today” set with her, has been “a blast.”

“He really makes sure that I know my lines, and I’m ready to go when we have to have tape day,” McEntire said. “We have a blast. We’re so grateful and thankful to get to go to work together, and then go home together.”
