Prince Harry, Meghan see 4 staff members leave: Report

(NewsNation) — Prince Harry and Meghan, Duchess of Sussex, are dealing with more staff turnover as four members have recently quit, according to reports.

Those who have left reportedly include Kyle Boulia, a deputy press secretary, and Charlie Gipson, a U.K. press officer. Both individuals were hired last year.

The couple recently hired Meredith Maines, a chief communications officer who worked for Google, and Emily Robinson, a director of communications who worked for Netflix. Meghan and Harry also got a team from Method Communications.

“As the Duke and Duchess’s business and philanthropic interests grow, I have made the strategic decision to move toward a more traditional communications structure of specialist agency support…” Maines said. “Transitioning from a team of two to an agency support staff of eight, operating across five different time zones, will give international media and stakeholders better access, and critically, faster response times to inquiries.”

Meghan, Prince Harry’s global press secretary leaves

In 2024, Meghan and Harry’s global press secretary, Ashley Hansen, who was also the couple’s head of communications, left to start her own communications firm. Harry’s chief of staff, Josh Kettler, also left last year after a trial period.

“Something tells me there will be another change in the future… Meghan and Harry have hired some of the most incredible people at the top of their fields, yet somehow none of them ever work out,” a source told Hello! Magazine.

Meghan rejoined Instagram after leaving all social media in 2018 before her wedding. She has recently been promoting her As Ever brand, with insiders telling NewsNation’s Paula Froelich that they were skeptical about the “limited edition” items selling out as fast as they did.

“Limited edition means not many products were available… It’s all about perception with her,” the insider told Froelich. “Like Netflix announcing a ‘second season’ of her show when it was already shot and contractually built in…”

Prince Harry, King Charles not on speaking terms

Prince Harry told the BBC that King Charles “won’t speak to me because of this security staff.” An issue that Harry lost the legal appeal on in May.

“I would love reconciliation with my family. There’s no point in continuing to fight anymore,” the Duke of Sussex said.

One insider told Froelich that, when Harry was in town for the security detail appeal, “There was a window where King Charles and Harry could have met, but they didn’t.” The insider also claimed that it was King Charles who chose not to meet with his son.

”(King Charles) is very upset over Harry’s insistence on fighting the government for police protection. He feels Harry knew what he signed up for when he and Meghan left the monarchy, but Harry, being Harry, just can’t accept it.”

Harry last saw his father in February 2024 after he was diagnosed with cancer, which Harry learned about from the press.
