(NewsNation) — Don’t expect to see “The Da Vinci Code” or “The Godfather” as one of Pope Leo XIV’s favorite movies.

In a video posted to Variety ahead of an upcoming Vatican event, the Chicago-born pontiff shared his favorite films. Saturday’s gathering will feature Hollywood stars such as Cate Blanchett, Chris Pine, Viggo Mortensen, Alison Brie, Dave Franco and Monica Bellucci.

Here’s a list of Leo’s favorite films:

‘It’s a Wonderful Life’ (1946)

In this Frank Capra-directed film, James Stewart plays a man who’s almost given up his life and is visited by an angel who shows him how he’s impacted others and what their lives would be like if he never existed.

‘The Sound of Music’ (1965)

The seminal classic starring Julie Andrews is considered one of the greatest movies of all time. Andrews plays Maria, sent to be the new governess of the von Trapp children.

‘Ordinary People’ (1980)

Directed by Robert Redford, “Ordinary People” tells the story of “the accidental death of the older son of an affluent family deeply [that] strains the relationships among the bitter mother, the good-natured father and the guilt-ridden younger son,” according to IMDB.

‘Life is Beautiful (La Vita e Bella)’ (1997)

“Life is Beautiful” is helmed by Roberto Benigni, who plays a Jewish waiter at a concentration camp during the Holocaust, alongside his son, and “uses a perfect mixture of will, humor and imagination to protect his son from the dangers around their camp,” according to an IMDB description.
