(NewsNation) — An American Olympic figure skater has announced she will no longer be using D4vd’s song in her short program.

Alysa Liu, 20, took to social media Wednesday to announce that she will be changing her routine “in light of recent news.”

Liu had previously choreographed her short program to “This Is How It Feels” by D4vd and Laufey for the “25-‘26 season.”

“My team & I are confidently pursuing a different direction that aligns with my values & just my overall ethos,” she continued.

Liu won the short program at the 2025 Lombardia Trophy competition in Italy earlier this month using the song and was planning to use it for the rest of the 2025-2026 season, as reported by TMZ.

“I have to change it, you know? Forced to change my hand, basically. But that’s alright,” Liu told The Associated Press on Wednesday.

Liu was initially disappointed that she had to switch up her routine but told the AP that “there’s nothing like a fresh start.”

Investigation into teen’s death

Celeste Rivas Hernandez’s body was found dismembered in the trunk of a Tesla registered to viral singer D4vd on Sept. 8, after the teen, 15 at the time she was found, had been reported missing for over a year.

Since then, D4vd’s silence and a lack of concrete information about the case from police have led to rampant speculation online regarding how the teen’s body ended up in the singer’s car.

So far, a cause of death has not been determined, and no suspects have been named in the investigation. D4vd is not accused of any wrongdoing.

A representative for D4vd told local outlet KNBC in Los Angeles that the singer is “fully cooperating” with authorities.

Eerie connections between D4vd and Hernandez

A leaked demo of a song titled “Celeste_Demo unfin.” has been making rounds on the internet, leading many to theorize about its significance.

The song includes the lyrics: “Oh Celeste / The girl with my name tattooed on her chest / I hear her voice each time I take a breath / I’m obsessed,” TMZ reported.

In addition to the song, NewsNation’s Ashleigh Banfield previously reported that the singer and teen have matching tattoos.

D4vd cancels tour, leaves Hollywood home

Following the police raid on D4vd’s Hollywood Hills home on Sept. 17, the singer broke his $20,000-a-month lease on the property, as reported by Daily Mail.

TMZ’s Charles Latibeaudiere told “Banfield” that police swooped on the house in search of anything resembling “blood evidence.”

D4vd also canceled the remainder of his U.S. tour following the raid.
