(NewsNation) — It’s not a question of “if” — it’s a question of when Olivia Nuzzi will be let go from her lofty position as West Coast editor of Vanity Fair.

The magazine has been put in an untenable position since the Nuzzi/Robert F. Kennedy Jr./Ryan Lizza/Mark Sanderson love triangle/quadrangle was exposed last week.

While it was known Nuzzi had an alleged intimate online affair with Kennedy — her book “American Canto” vaguely mentions “The Politician” (Kennedy) and their “love” for each other — it’s the salvos her ex Lizza has been posting on his site, Telos, that are proving the most uncomfortable.

In the past few posts, Lizza has alleged Nuzzi had a physical affair in 2020 with Mark Sanford, while he was running for president, and that Nuzzi sold out sources to help Kennedy in his quest for the presidency, among other journalistic indiscretions.

Executives at Condé Nast and Vanity Fair were said to be unaware of the Sanford charges or the journalistic ethics questions when they hired Nuzzi — and are now conducting their own investigation.

My sources say Nuzzi is a goner.

”It’s not a question of if she will be let go — it’s a question of when,” one said.

”They don’t want to act hastily — or feed the media wolves baying at the door. They will do what New York magazine did and either let her go after their investigation or let her (short) contract run out.”

Nuzzi was fired from New York magazine last year when her relationship with Kennedy came to light, but only after the magazine did an independent investigation.

Reps for Vanity fair didn’t retain emails.
