(NewsNation) — Nina Dobrev and Shaun White have ended their engagement after five years together, People Magazine confirmed.
“It was a mutual decision, and wasn’t an easy one, but it was made with love and a deep respect for one another,” a source told the outlet.
White, 39, and Dobrev, 36, first met in 2012 and went public with their relationship in 2020, according to US Weekly.

The Olympic snowboarder proposed to “The Vampire Diaries” actress in October 2024, with a 5-carat diamond ring, during a surprise dinner in New York City.
The pair was last seen together on August 31, holding hands. However, on Sept. 7, Dobrev walked the red carpet at the 2025 Toronto International Film Festival without her engagement ring, People reports.
The actress also removed a pinned Instagram post of White proposing.
