NASHVILLE, Tenn. (WKRN) — Comedian and Tennessee native Nate Bargatze isn’t joking about bringing a theme park to Nashville.
On Tuesday, Bargatze announced that his company Nateland has partnered with Storyland Studios to make his dream of bringing a family-fun theme park to his hometown a reality.
Felix Verdigets, the CEO of Nateland Entertainment, said the idea came about after Bargatze and the team recognized “the need for a major attraction for people of all ages in the Nashville area.”
Members of Nateland’s Experience division and Storyland’s design team are reportedly working with state and local officials to review possible sites in the greater Nashville area for the 100+ acre park.
“This project has been a long time coming, and we’re thrilled to officially announce that we have embarked on this journey with Nate, Felix, and the entire Nateland team,” said Mel McGowan, founder of Storyland Studios. “Our goal is to create a truly premium themed entertainment experience right in Music City that reflects the unique humor and heart of Nateland, while also delivering a world-class destination for families.”
In addition to the family-fun park, other key amenities, such as retail, dining, and even a hotel, are also being considered.
In a release, Storyland Studios announced that a feasibility study for the project is expected to be complete by the first quarter of 2026. After the study and concept is done, the Nateland Experiences team will reportedly turn their attention to investors to continue the development.
Nateland has previously suggested that the Nashville park could also be the first of several throughout the country. Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter in September, Verdigets said a “mini park” idea could be possible in other states. In the meantime, Nateland’s “experiences” division is gearing up for a February 2026 “Nateland at Sea” cruise featuring comedy, musical acts and a magic performance from Bargatze’s father.
