(NewsNation) — Meghan Trainor is opening up about her weight loss and how the comments about her body affected her.

Speaking on Entertainment Tonight, the singer said that losing weight was about prioritizing her health.

“I’m literally for the first time, after having babies, taking care of my health to the highest level and I’ve never felt better and I look incredible. I feel great,” she said. “And that’s when people attack me.”

The “All About That Bass” singer said that folks have attacked her since she lost weight, telling ET that the negativity toward her is intensifying and people are becoming meaner.

“I’m taking care of myself,” she said. “I have to find a way to not be affected by that.”

Trainor revealed on Instagram in March that she began taking the GLP-1 drug Mounjaro after having her second child with her husband, Daryl Sabara.

Meghan Trainor doesn’t ‘care’ in new song

Trainor released her new song “Still Don’t Care” on Nov. 12, which addresses critiques of her body.

“People started commenting about my body, saying I’m too thin, and that they don’t recognize me anymore. And I was like, ‘Oh, I’ve just been focusing so hard on my health and my fitness that I’ve never felt better,’” she told People Magazine. “So, I was confused and sad and was like, ‘Oh, it’s almost worse now.’ I don’t know what happened.”
