(NewsNation) — Years after their royal wedding, it looks like Meghan and Prince Harry are getting into the wedding business again — well, sort of.
Harry, 41, and Meghan, 44, are producing an adaptation of Jasmine Guillory’s book “The Wedding Date” for Netflix, Deadline reports.
The streaming giant hired “Girls Trip” writer Tracy Oliver to adapt the New York Times bestselling author’s 2018 book.
“A groomsman and his last-minute guest are about to discover if a fake date can go the distance in a fun and flirty debut novel,” according to a log line from Guillory. “Agreeing to go to a wedding with a guy she gets stuck with in an elevator is something Alexa Monroe wouldn’t normally do. But there’s something about Drew Nichols that’s too hard to resist.”
Oliver became the first Black woman to write a movie that grossed over $100 million at the worldwide box office.
The Duke and Duchess of Sussex are producing the movie through their Archewell Productions.
Meghan, Prince Harry extend partnership with Netflix
In August, Meghan and Harry renewed their contract with Netflix, striking a new multiyear deal through their Archewell Productions banner, in which the streaming service will have a first-look deal for film and television projects.
