(NewsNation) — NewsNation will finish 2025 with its highest ratings numbers in the network’s history after posting double-digit bumps in overall viewership since 2021, according to data analyzed by Forbes.
The report, citing 2025 ratings data compiled by Nielsen, indicated NewsNation will finish the year posting its highest ratings in prime time and in total day viewership. The data shows the cable news network’s prime-time programming totaled 108,000 viewers year-to-date and has grown 218% since NewsNation launched four years ago.
NewsNation’s prime-time shows, including its highest-rated show “CUOMO,” increased in the key demo by 117% in 2025 with an average audience of 13,000 viewers, the data analyzed by Forbes showed. The report indicated all of the network’s prime-time programs grew this year, including a 16% ratings bump in total viewers year-over-year for its show hosted by Chris Cuomo.
“NewsNation Live,” an afternoon show hosted by Connell McShane, was the network’s fastest-growing program with a viewership increase of 51%, the data showed.
NewsNation grabbed significant viewership victories over rival cable news networks in September with its coverage of the killing of conservative influencer and activist Charlie Kirk, who was fatally shot at a rally in Utah. NewsNation’s prime-time coverage of Kirk’s killing and memorial outpaced other networks among viewers ages 25 to 54, including CNN and MSNBC, Nielsen data shows.
NewsNation’s coverage grabbed 44,000 prime-time viewers in the demo, which placed it ahead of CNN and MSNBC, marking the first time it had topped both of those outlets.
NewsNation expanded to 24/7 coverage in June and experienced double-digit growth in total viewers on two weekend offerings, including “Morning In America with Hena Doba” (37%) and “The Hill Weekend” with Chris Stirewalt (18%).
NewsNation has announced plans to expand its programming in 2026.
