(NewsNation) — Former CNN host Don Lemon is now a former X host, even before his first show dropped: An interview with Elon Musk, the owner of X.

On his X page, Lemon said he conducted a wide-ranging interview with Musk last week, “covering everything from SpaceX to the Presidential election. We had a good conversation.”

The talk was supposed to be the first episode of “The Don Lemon Show” on X — what he called a commitment by X to work directly with “new and diverse voices.”  Lemon says, just hours later, Musk told him that X will not host Lemon’s show.

In his own post on X, Musk said he’s “proud to provide an open environment for diverse voices and perspectives,” and that Lemon is still free to publish on X.

“However, like any enterprise, we reserve the right to make decisions about our business partnerships, and after careful consideration, X decided not to enter into a commercial partnership with the show.”

Lemon says his new 30-minute show will post three times a week, starting with the Musk interview on Monday, March 18 on YouTube and as a podcast.
