(NewsNation) — Controversial internet personality Lil Tay says she made more than $1 million on adult content site OnlyFans within hours of turning 18.

In an Aug. 3 Instagram post, Tay shared a screenshot of her alleged earnings, which totaled $1,024,298.

“Come see content I took of myself at 12:01AM on my 18th BDAY,” the caption reads.

Tay rose to fame in 2018 for her inflammatory Instagram videos flaunting luxury outfits, houses and cars. Despite being under 10 at the time, these posts often included derogatory and profane language.

Her family and personal life remain the subject of much speculation, with some having accused her parents and brother of forcing her to make social media content.

In 2023, her Instagram account falsely announced her death, which she later said was the result of a hack.

Her OnlyFans debut has elicited widespread criticism online, with many users expressing discomfort over the timing and nature of the launch.

“Wow…everyone who bought it should be arrested,” one user commented under her post.
