(KTLA) — Former NBA champion Lamar Odom was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence in Las Vegas early Saturday morning, according to a report from TMZ.

TMZ reports Odom was booked on a DUI charge and cited for two traffic violations, including driving more than 41 miles per hour over the speed limit and improper lane change or failure to maintain his lane, the report says. As of Saturday afternoon, he appeared to remain in custody.

Odom, who won two NBA titles with the Los Angeles Lakers, has publicly discussed his past struggles with drug and alcohol addiction. He was previously arrested for DUI in 2013 and nearly died from an overdose in 2015, an incident that drew national attention and involved then-wife Khloé Kardashian.

In recent years, Odom has said he recommitted himself to sobriety and has worked to help others battling addiction.

No further details were immediately available. NewsNation affiliate KTLA has not independently confirmed the details of the arrest and is working to obtain additional information.

This is a developing story and will be updated as more information is released.
