(NewsNation) — Kelly Osbourne is hitting back at people who criticized her physical appearance.
Osbourne, 41, posted a video on her Instagram Stories on Dec. 10 about the messages she received about her look, months after losing her father, Ozzy Osbourne.
“First, I want to start by saying I received so many lovely, lovely, lovely comments from people that have really helped me get through this time in my life since losing my father,” she said at the beginning of her video.
Kelly Osbourne calls out ‘horrible’ messages
After thanking her fans, she then directed her comments to those who left “disgusting, horrible, mean, rude comments.”
“I’m just here to say, ‘What do you expect from me? What do you expect me to look like right now?’” She said. “The fact that I’m getting out of bed and facing my life and trying to be more than enough, I should be commended for that.”
Addressing those leaving her “sick comments,” she said they “need to take a strong, hard look” at themselves “because those things you say about me is how you feel about yourself.”
“For example, you say that I look ill. Well, I am ill right now. My life is completely flipped upside down. I don’t understand how people expect me to bounce back and look like everything is just fine in my life when it’s not.”
Social media users say they don’t recognize Kelly Osbourne
In a video posted by author Michela Carbosiero, “The Osbournes” star is seen reading from Carbosiero’s children’s book “The Dog With No Fur,” which touches upon self-acceptance and kindness.
Commenters were quick to point out her slimmer appearance.
“Her transformation is visually crazy, if we compare her reality show era to now,” one Instagram user wrote.
Another wrote, “Omg please put the weight back on!”
Another user said, “The only way I recognized her was that she sounded like her mother.”
Kelly Osbourne says women are leaving hurtful comments
In her Instagram Stories, Osbourne added it isn’t fair for people to compare her current look to how she looked decades ago.
“Another thing that is strange is that you compare photos of me now, at 41 years old, to a picture of me when I was 18 years old. People’s faces change when you grow older,” she said.
She said that she found it “disappointing” that women were the ones leaving the majority of the comments.
“And it’s absolutely devastating that women can’t support other women,” she said. “They’d rather tear them down when their dad just died. It’s disgusting, and I’ve had enough of it. So, go f— yourself.”
