(NewsNation) — Kelly Clarkson announced Monday she’s resuming her shows in Las Vegas, following her ex-husband’s Brandon Blackstock’s death.  

“New Vegas shows have been added! Come see me at The Colosseum at Caesars Palace,” Clarkson wrote on her social media pages. “Tickets on sale Friday!” 

In August, the “Behind These Hazel Eyes” singer postponed the remainder of her Studio Sessions residency in Vegas, revealing that Blackstock was sick and she needed to support her kids, River, 11, and Remington, 9.

“Unfortunately, I need to postpone the remainder of the August Studio Session dates in Las Vegas,” Clarkson shared on her social media accounts at the time. “While I normally keep my personal life private, this past year, my children’s father has been ill and at this moment, I need to be fully present for them.”    

The new dates for the “Never Again” singer’s residency are Aug. 7, 8, 14 and 15. 

Presale tickets go on sale on Nov. 4, with general admission tickets going on sale on Nov. 6.  

Brandon Blackstock dies from cancer 

Blackstock died at the age of 48 of cancer on Aug. 7, a day after Clarkson announced she was postponing the residency.

“It is with great sadness that we share the news that Brandon Blackstock has passed away,” a representative for the family said in a statement. “Brandon bravely battled cancer for more than three years. He passed away peacefully and was surrounded by family. We thank you for your thoughts and prayers and ask everyone to respect the family’s privacy during this very difficult time.” 

NewsNation’s Paula Froelich first reported in April that Blackstock had been sick and that Clarkson took their children to see him.    

The talk show host and Blackstock, who was the former stepson of Reba McEntire, got married in 2013 and broke up in 2020. After a contentious custody battle, Clarkson and Blackstock finalized their divorce in 2022.
