Kate Middleton, Jessie J bond while discussing their cancer battles

(NewsNation) — Kate Middleton and singer Jessie J shared an emotional embrace as the two bonded over their journeys with cancer.

The Duchess of Wales and the “Price Tag” singer were at London’s Royal Albert Hall on Wednesday for the Royal Variety Performance.

“Mum to mum, who has just recently gone through cancer, I just wanted to give her a hug,” Jessie J told The Independent.

She continued, “We acknowledged that it’s something that is not easy to go through, especially in the public eye.”

Kate Middleton reveals cancer diagnosis  

The Princess of Wales revealed in March 2024 she was diagnosed with cancer and was undergoing chemotherapy following an absence from the public eye and royal duties.

Kate revealed in January that her cancer is in remission, writing on social media that she felt a sense of “relief” but remained “focused on recovery.” 

Jessie J’s breast cancer detected ‘early’

The English pop singer, whose real name is Jessica Ellen Cornish, revealed in June she was diagnosed with early breast cancer.

“Before ‘No Secrets’ came out, I was diagnosed with early breast cancer,” she said at the time. “I’m highlighting the word ‘early.’ Cancer sucks in any form, but I’m holding onto the word ‘early.’
