KANSAS CITY, Mo. (NewsNation Now) — Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes is going to be a dad. Mahomes and his fiancé Brittany Matthews announced their pregnancy on social media Tuesday.
Matthews posted the news on Twitter with the caption, “Just taking a small detour to the wedding.”
The Chiefs star proposed to his girlfriend earlier this month at Arrowhead Stadium. Mahomes and Matthews have been together since high school.
Kansas City Mayor Quinton Lucas sent the couple well wishes via Twitter.
“Congratulations,” Lucas tweeted. “You’ll love raising a family in Kansas City.”
