(NewsNation) — Justin Baldoni’s attorneys say Blake Lively improvised an off-script kiss seen in a deleted scene of “It Ends With Us.”

The clip was revealed in a motion for summary judgment by Wayfarer Studios on Nov. 13, according to People magazine. It allegedly depicts Lively and Baldoni’s characters in a hospital setting where a kiss occurs.

The director’s lawyers argue the “Gossip Girl” star “oversaw” the scene and that “she herself added to the script, in which her character kissed Baldoni’s character in every take, although there was no kiss in the script.”

Blake Lively’s accusations against Justin Baldoni

In a December 2024 lawsuit, Lively accused Baldoni and the studio of embarking on a “multi-tiered plan” to damage her reputation following a meeting in which she and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, addressed “repeated sexual harassment and other disturbing behavior” by Baldoni and a producer on the movie.

Baldoni sued Lively and her husband, Ryan Reynolds, for $400 million, alleging that the A-list couple defamed and tried to extort him.

The judge presiding over the case signed an order Oct. 31 to officially toss out Baldoni’s countersuit after his legal team missed the deadline to amend the suit.

Blake Lively seeks millions in damages

The “Simple Favor” star is asking for $160 million in damages from Baldoni.

In unsealed court documents originally filed in July, Lively alleges she’s experienced a huge loss in past and future earnings from acting, producing and business ventures.

She is seeking over $56 million in lost earnings and $71 million in lost business profits tied to her businesses Betty Buzz, Betty Booze and Blake Brown Beauty.

Lively claims she suffered $34 million in damages to her reputation due to negative social media impressions.
